Goals for 2011

I decided to make some goals for 2011. Here they are:

1. Take a picture once a month of something inspiring and post it on the blog.

2. Ask more people if I can take their photos.....because really how else will I get any better?

3. Spend more time doing things for me.

4. Create a website!

5. Volunteer more at my local animal shelter.

6. Get my office organized so it actually looks like an office.

7. Start a work-out routine.

8. Create an Etsy account.

9. Try something new.

10. Create a bucket list!

Lucy + Steve | Love Session

I had the pleasure of photographing one of my dearest friends and her love, Steve (plus Miles and The Todd!) a couple weekends ago. Lucy and I have been friends since waaaay back when. :) I was so excited that they were willing to let me drag them around for a couple hours on an early Saturday morning snapping away and seeing their love first hand. In all the years that I have known Lucy I have never seen her this happy. Steve brings out the best in her. You can see it in her smile, the way she looks at him, and the way she holds his hand. I can see how much Steve loves her by the way he runs his fingers through her hair, whispers in her ear, and the fact that he can't take his eyes off of her! And who can blame him.....she was smokin'!



You know you have great friends when they are willing to lay down in the street just for a photo!

Stephanie + Brian | June 12, 2010 Part II

I had to post a Part II of Stephanie & Brian's big day. Here's one of the main reasons why:

Weddings to me are more than just "I love you" & the "I do" its also who is there to make that moment memorable for you.

Remember how I said people around the room were holding hands while the bride & groom were exchanging their vows? Here is that moment I was talking about:

Emmett Walker

Emmett is my newest nephew! He was born on May 21, 2010! Isn't he adorable?!

Shannon + Eric | Maternity Session

When I first decided I wanted to be a photographer I enlisted one of my best friends Shannon to let me take photos of her while pregnant. She was so sweet and patient with me as I made adjustments and got the feel for my camera. Even though I've known Shannon since about 5th grade I was still sweating bullets during her shoot! I guess my nerves got the best of me that day! I have learned a lot since taking her photos back in February. Thank you Shannon & Eric for letting me use you as my first models!
